I have seen alot of people get banned for this. Just because.
Its the new system anet implemented to ban users from buying gold online, if you don't want to be banned, always trade something for the item or gold your about to give and or recieve.

Also, it's not every time that it triggers off large gold trades. I've personally traded a lot of stuff between my accounts, but I've also heard people that got both accounts banned by transferring a mere 500k or so.

And I wouldn't bother with screens or anything. The temp bans are only 3 days, and it'll take about 2-3 days to contact Anet, send them the right information, for them to review it, and for them to make a decision on the ban.

Either way if they don't remove the ban you have a mark on your record that stays there for a long time, for no good reason. This auto ban thing is incredibly stupid. Its like some guy said earlier why should you have to worry about anything, anything at all, if you play legit. Taking screens when you trade with a friend? Is there supposed to be any kind of immersion factor here, maybe a rpg or something, i dont know. It's like they are doing the whole scared strait thing, but on the guys who are already strait.

Whenever me and a friend give each other items or gold, we explain that we're friends from school and are just giving the gold/items for free, just in case anyone checks the chat logs. :]

This is actually very funny. You get banned for helping friends, giving away things you don't want/need or Moving items from one account you own to another.

I'm suprised anyone even plays this game after the way anet treats its players. But players know how anet works and they still play, So as horrible as this sounds, Players deserve what they get.

You know a King Cobra will bite you, if you play with it then you deserve to get bit. So when anet bans a player for no reason or a stupid, unjustified reason, its the players fault.

Anet pwns its customers, nothing you can do but stop playing and prevent yourself a pain in the ass. Or keep playing and QQ on forums when anet pwns you.

Wow, I had no idea Anet was so anti-social. Having friends is against the rules?

It's mindless to have an automated banning system, particularly for monetary transactions, it may prevent people from helping others, close friends mainly, with expensive endeavors.

I'm wondering if I've been flagged yet, I regularly give my boyfriend/guild leader about 10 golds to ID and sometimes lockpicks >.>
No money yet, but I will be helping my other guildie with his Ele's armours, he just needs to decide which one.

Well I don't think A-Net bans people for trading money frequently. I think it's just more suspicious when your trading large amount of money/items between a account you never really played with. Just better with trading money between accounts that usually play together.

I make frequent transfers of 500k+ or 300e+ or 150+ Zaishen Keys. Never gotten banned yet and have been doing this since Factions came out.

I mean get real this is a joke, people getting banned when its OBVIOUSLY not a gold purchase, for those who don't want to scroll up, i traded him 100k, he decided he didn't need it and traded it back, all within about 1 min. time frame. 15 mins later i'm temp banned and he's perma banned. Pretty lame in my opinion.
uhh, I'm sorry but i just don't see this:

As he just decided he didn't need the 100k you traded him. Your friend on his new account was just trying to look "leet" with a nifty 100k.

i dont think it has anything to do with trade...

i think they really need to remove the whole auto-ban thing, i mean seriously who cares if someone buys gold online. Does it affect your gameplay? i dont think it will because you can't buy actual skills( like abilities not actual skills like WoH) with online money. right? im saying this in a curious way rather than an accusatory way.

What? You didn't know its RMT trading if a friend helps you with something and you help them back with something else? Obviously having a lop-sided trade in gw means a lop-sided trade occurred elsewhere! There is no where there is no RMT trading involved!

Everything in the world is all about trades. There is no such thing called being nice. Everyone is out to get you! They all have ulterior motives! Nothing is ever just a free gift from a friend! If they give you something, its OBVIOUSLY ONLY BECAUSE you gave them something else!

... in case anyone actually takes that seriously, Yes, I was being sarcastic.

Also to note, I traded my friend 250 ectos at one point. We did this several times back and forth, and no one was banned.

Then, about 3 days later, we went outside LA ID1, and I dropped the 250 ectos on the ground. he picked them up, and he zoned elsewhere. Later we met at the GH and he returned them. What happened? He got banned for 24 hours.

I am not exactly sure how they are "monitoring" all of this, but something about it must be automated.

4 weeks and counting now.

A little background. I have a number of accounts (mainly chapter 1's picked up in bargain bins) that I use to do the xunlai house each month for more tournament points for keys,I have one main mule account and my 'playing' account.

That was until I hit my gold cap and ectos were taking a hard dive. I then transferred some gold and a few bits and bobs to my mule account. No problems at all.

Well until the next day. I try to log into my mule and it's temp banned 3 days for buying gold for real world money. I now panic and check my main account, banned permanently for selling gold for real world money. I submit tickets on both. My mule account gets unbanned after a day. I get a response back about my main account.

Your account was permanently closed because you engaged in the sale of in-game items for cash or other items with real world value, or you engaged in gathering items to be sold for cash or other items with real world value. Both actions are against our User Agreement, where Section 7 states, "You may not sell or auction any Guild Wars accounts, characters, items, coin or copyrighted material, nor may you assist others in doing so."

Protests regarding the termination of your Guild Wars game account will not be addressed or entertained. We will not accept appeals in cases such as this because of the depth of the analysis prior to the block. We regret the necessity of terminating any game account, but we will continue to take all necessary actions to protect the Guild Wars community and to assure that players are abiding by our User Agreement.

After some more back and forth where they refuse to tell me anything I've decided to take it a little further.

i think a-net can be very retarded when it comes to handing in bans. If the poster above me tells the truth about not selling gold, then a-net needs to atleast look further into the ban instead of just saying haha were gonna say you traded money and then ban you to oblivion and guess what were not even gonna listen to what you say. Haha suck on that player who bought the game.
